Since its establishment in 2001, the company has been offering blasting services, explosives production, import of explosive materials including trade, storage and transportation of explosives. In 2008, we have built the first packaged emulsion plant in Mongolia which makes water resistant explosives, since then we have built and commissioned a total of five emulsion explosives plants with various technologies, and have been reliably supplying mining companies with import-substituting products. We have always been a leader and pioneer in the field, with the introduction of explosives production technology incorporated with the composition and properties suitable for Mongolia’s harsh climate and geological conditions, including the first explosives testing laboratory, by offering blasting services in pair with international standards, and promoting experienced and skilled personnel. Founded in 2001, Blast LLC is one of the pioneers in the blasting industry in Mongolia, a national manufacturer company providing trading and service. Our team prefers to deliver high quality products, reliable and fast services that meets international standards and needs of our customers.

International quality management system ISO 9001:2008 and MNS ISO 9001:2010 standards have been introduced in the company’s activities since 2011, and ISO 9001:2015 and MNS ISO 9001:2016 quality management system standards have been introduced and followed since 2018.

Quality policy of “Blast” LLC

Blast’s quality policy is to carry out production and services that are not harmful to human health and the environment within a framework of relevant laws and regulations, and to provide consumers with reliable products and services that meet international standards. We are continuously improving our quality management system including risk management implementation,occupational health and safety, technological procedures of production and service, work and organisational processing, technology, responsibility of employees and knowledge based skills.

Manufacture of explosives

Along with the rapid development of the mining sector, we are upgrading equipment and technology, increasing production capacity, and producing quality products that meet customer needs.

Blasting services

Since Blast LLC started providing blasting services in 2003, it has been operating in open and underground mining and other types of blasting operations using advanced technology and safety in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Explosive materials, testing of raw materials and research

The Central Laboratory for Explosives Testing was established in 2008 to conduct research and analysis of its products and chemicals. Since 2013 we have ensured to meet standard MNS ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for general requirements for research and testing adjustment for a laboratory. Thus expanding our field of services which is provided in the following areas.

Trade and import of explosive materials

Our company regularly supplies explosives that meet international quality requirements and suitable for Mongolia's harsh climate and mining geological conditions, to licensed companies.

Drawing and construction of storage magazine facility and plant

Blast LLC's licensed technical team has experience in designing of storage magazine facility including construction of explosives plant, feasibility study and related calculations. In the last decade, eight ANFO and Emulsion explosives' plants and more explosive storage magazine facilities have been built and commissioned to the state commission.

Transportation of explosives and chemicals

Blast Automotive LLC, a subsidiary of Blast LLC, is responsible for the transportation of dangerous goods and chemicals.

Branches

Blast LLC established the first packaged emulsion explosives factory and warehouse complex in Mongolia in 2008 in the 3rd khoroo of Nalaikh district of the capital city. It has created more than 40 permanent jobs in the district, producing import-substituting products and supplying them to mines and factories. Water, heat and electricity supply infrastructure. With a capacity of 240 tons of explosives, the plant produces an average of:

7000 tons of packaged emulsion explosives
5000 tons of ordinary explosives
It has the capacity to produce 1000 tons of vibrating explosives

The Nariin Sukhait factory and warehouse complex located in Gurvantes soum of Umnugovi aimag was commissioned in 2009.

Factory capacity:

The open-emulsion explosives plant with US technology has a production capacity of 240 tons per day.
It has a storage capacity of 100 tons of explosives.

The factory and warehouse complex located in Tsogttsetsii soum of Umnugovi aimag was commissioned in 2011 and has water, heat and electricity supply infrastructure.

It has the capacity to produce 45 tons of bulk emulsion explosives per day. It is possible to increase the installed capacity of the factory by 5 times. It has a storage capacity of 160 tons of explosives.

In 2002, Blast LLC established a factory and warehouse complex in Shiveegobi soum of Govisumber aimag with a production capacity of 5,000 tons of ordinary explosives per year. In September 2012, it was expanded to an American technology plant for technological innovation, making it possible to produce enhanced conventional explosives.

Blast LLC is founded and started business relations with foreign entities who specializes in production of explosives and raw materials.

2002

Constructed ANFO production plant at Shivee-Ovoo coal mine and became a sole provider.

2003

Provided blasting services for the first time at Ikh dashir gold deposit of Boroo gold LLC and successfully continued until the project ended.

2004

Constructed explosive magazine at Boroo gold mine. Also became the first to provide blasting services to Tsairt Mineral LLC located at Sukhbaatar province and since been supplying explosives materials.

2006

Initiated blasting services at gold minefield of G and U Gold LLC and Shivee-Ovoo coal mine. First hand introduction of seismic explosives for exploration purposes and its supply to oil companies, also started offering transportation service of explosive materials using specially equipped vehicles.

2007

Started seismic blasting services at Tamsag oil basin of Dachin Tamsag Mongol LLC and road blasting services under Millennium Road project

2008

Commenced packaged emulsion production plant as the first of its kind in Mongolia and since been responsibly supplying water resistant explosives to customers.

2009

Constructed explosive materials storage magazine at Nariin sukhait coal mine, Gurvan tes soum, Southgobi province, supplying explosives materials to MAK LLC and Chinhua Mak Nariin Sukhait LLC, construction of bulk emulsion explosives plant was initiated.

2010

Commenced bulk emulsion explosives plant at Nariin Sukhait coal mine and started providing blasting services to MAK LLC. Started supplying explosive materials to iron ore mine of Altain Khuder LLC at Tseel soum, Gobi-Altai province.

2011

Started conducting blasting services at coal mines of Chinhua Mak Nariin Sukhait LLC and South Gobi Sands LLC. Commenced bulk emulsion explosives manufacturing facility at Tavan Tolgoi coal mine, Tsogttsetsii soum, Southgobi province and started blasting services for Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC. Introduced ISO9001:2008 international standard into our operation and been conforming to the standard ever since.

2012

Constructed explosive materials storage magazine and started blasting services at Tsant-Uul coal mine of Hunnu coal company. Commenced bulk emulsion manufacturing facility at Tayan nuur iron ore, Tseel soum, Gobi-Altai province.

2013

Blast LLC established central laboratory of testing and research of explosives conformed to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. Innovative T-1 automatic equipment from USA were installed at ANFO plant of Nalaikh district and Shiveegobi soum.

2014

Constructed and commissioned bulk emulsion manufacturing facility at Bayan nuur iron ore mine, Eruu soum, Selenge province.

2015

Operationalized and commissioned heavy ANFO plant by installing B-1 equipment from USA on the existing bulk emulsion plant at Bayan nuur iron ore mine, Eruu soum, Selenge province. Started blasting services at Baruun noyon uul coal mine, Noyon soum, Southgobi province and Khukh tsav lime pit located at Dalanjargalan soum, Dornogobi province.

2016

Started blasting services at Bayan airag’s mine, Durvuljin soum, Zavkhan province.

2018

Based on the explosives factory and warehouse located in Gurvantes soum of Umnugovi aimag, a workers' camp with water, heating and electricity supply infrastructure was commissioned and handed over to the state commission.

The capacity of the explosives industry in the sector has been doubled, and a plant with US technology has been built and handed over to the state commission. As a result, the plant has the capacity to produce 240 tons of explosives per day.
